Protect our Homestead!

Our Motto:

HOA Abuse Must STOP!

Legislative Priorities

End HOA Foreclosures

Assure homeowners in HOAs the right to vote, to run for office, and fair elections.

Establish a Priority of Payment schedule so that all payments by homeowners are applied first to past due assessments, second to current assessments, lastly to just claims as the homeowner directs so that due process is employed.

Amend the Texas Open Meetings and Open Records Acts so that HOAs are subject to these acts by removing applicability criteria three (3).

Texas Homeowners for HOA Reform, Inc. wants your HOA abuse story for our files.  Our database of abuse stories is used to compile data and statistics for report forwarded to legislators, news media and others.

Texas Homeowners for HOA Reform, Inc. can offer no legal advice for those involved in disputes with their Associations.

We're interested in any story, even if it doesn't involve money.  Our goal is to reveal the truth about how HOA boards operate and the way they deal with their members. This includes requests for information or viewing HOA documents, exclusion from HOA meetings, denial of voting privileges, or anything that violates your rights as a member of your HOA.

Our files have a section for harassment stories.  We want to compile statistics about deed restriction violations that are not specifically stated in your HOA's Deed Restriction Covenants.  Texas Property Code 204 allows an HOA to cite a homeowner for creating a "nuisance" and therefore being in violation.  This is used widely by many HOAs and when taken to the extreme used by particular board members to harass certain homeowners.  If you're receiving violation letters for specific things while other homes in your HOA are not, we want this documented for our files whether you're the property owner or a tenant.

If you have any questions e-mail us.
