Sherry Terry
Sherry Terry was born and raised in Indiana where she attained her real estate license. She currently works in the transportation industry. Both industries engrained the values of hard work, responsible leadership, the value of integrity and the value of people.
Sherry is a Senior Customer Application Engineer, working with communication applications utilizing both cellular and satellite. Global positioning satellites allow for location reporting. Design and analysis work is a requirement of bringing new application to market. Integration of the communications applications with the customers back office system offers a unique challenge of balancing the needs of both processes to attain maximum ROI.
Sherry's job has afforded her the opportunity to live in several states, having last moved to Texas in 1998. She currently resides in a mandatory HOA in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Sherry's goals are to:
- Educate every homeowner with the knowledge that if they elect to purchase a home in a mandatory HOA, they understand that a possibility exists that their home could be threatened or foreclosed on by their HOA.
- Change the Texas property codes to assure that every homeowner, before signing the closing documents, has a copy of the by-laws and CCRs.
- Completely eliminate the ability of an HOA to foreclose on any Texas property.
- Assure that an HOA board can not violate your basic constitutional rights, inclusive of freedom of speech.
- Stop HOA boards from having "secret" or "executive" meetings. What kind of information would a board have that requires a "top secret clearance"?
- Require HOA boards to provide all HOA documents upon the request of any member.
