Ken and Malu Hamburger
Ken and Malu Hamburger retired in 2003 and enthusiastically began building their dream home in Driftwood, TX. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a dream turned into a nightmare, when the development was bought by a new group, which was subsequently foreclosed upon. The ensuing problems made them realize that the Constitutional Rights of Texas homeowners have been taken from them by the Texas Property Codes 204, etc. and the 1987 Inwood v. Harris decision.
Ken and Malu decided that they had to act. With Ken's public speaking experience from his professional career as a pilot, aviation educator and his present business experience, he set out to be heard, not only in his testimony at the Texas State Capitol, but also in his subdivision.
Malu, with her previous real estate sales experience and active license joined him with the same fervor. She also believes that because the contract between the HOA and buyer is one-sided and illusory, a disclosure should be required by the Texas Real Estate Commission before a real estate offer to purchase is made. This would be to educate prospective buyers and make them aware of how HOAs can change rules, by-laws and CCRs at will.
She and Ken have joined forces with Texas Homeowners for HOA Reform, Inc. to change the necessary Texas laws to restore property rights and free speech, and to allow homeowners to have total authority to fight dictatorial powers of HOAs. They are committed to work endlessly in any way necessary.
